Panels is a wallpaper app with an ambitious mission to deliver you dope wallpapers to your device while supporting the creators in more ways than one.
Pros:
- Minimalist Design
- Identifies Ai enhancement Images
- All images are technically free and you can get the higher resolution images by paying or watching ads
- HD resolution graphics look find on most devices
Cons:
- The “For You” section is curated around the artist rather than the type of art.
- Filters leaves a lot to be desired
Thoughts
I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t really a believer of a wallpaper focused app. Especially when you have tons of crapplications out there flooding the market. There are many decent apps out there that do similar things like 500px, Unsplash, and Deviantart.
After using Panels I got that ah-ha moment where I see a world that this app might be kind of a dope place for both wallpaper seekers and artist / photographers alike.

- There really should be a creators section within the app
- The Getting Started part shouldn’t be focused on selecting artists but rather types of art that you are interested in. Warning Ai rant { I will come out and say I hate Ai enhanced / Generated images, I feel degrades the hours of hard work artist like myself put into each piece we do. I don’t have too many issue with using Ai as a tool to assist artist but I feel that line has already been crossed along time ago. ] Asking questions like what types or background / art do you like (Illustrations, Photography, Digital Art, Abstract, Photo-manipulation, etc. Also there should be a toggle for Ai and Ai Enhanced images)?
Recommendation
As it is now I say try it out if you like changing wallpapers often...
